There are hundreds and hundreds of Random Acts of Kindness that have been done in Derek’s honor. And it would be impossible to post everyone here to start, but we will going forward. Every single Act that has been done fills my heart and my soul with a warmth that is unexplainable. To know that someone did something kind for someone else, expecting nothing in return, and used Derek’s card to help pass that on, is truly humbling.
Bike Riding
I was walking down a road and saw a boy that appeared to have fallen off is bike. I saw a car stop and the driver spoke to the boy and than drove away. Something didn’t seem right and I hurried to reach the young man. He seemed confused so I made him lay down. I was fortunate to have bottle of water for him to drink and wash his face off. I got him home and later found out he had a mild concussion…Today he in great shape back riding his bike.

Universal Studios – Florida
We were blessed with a surprise while visiting Universal Studios in Orlando while on our vacation. A wonderful couple let us have their park hopper pass. We had an amazing day there and their act of kindness reminded us that Derek is with us, always watching over us, everywhere we go. Thank you to the S. Family for the smile brought to ours!

Lisbon, ND
Lisbon ND, Going to pick up my Motorcycle, there was a Navy Veteran pumping gas into his buick. I went up to him and big grin on my face said, I smell fish. He said what. I said I smell fish. He looked puzzled and I said come on don’t you remember your service days and then he looked at my Air Force hat and started to laugh. He said I ain’t heard that comment in years. We went into the store and he and his wife got a couple drinks. I told the cashier I was paying their bill and then I paid and gave them a card and went on my way. A great moment of Military Camaraderie and a chance to pay it forward to a veteran in Lisbon, ND. What a great day!

Brewers Baseball
My 7 year old grandson (Brady), his aunt and I were walking to our seats at the Brewer game on August 20th when we were surprised by the “act of kindness”. They gave him a baseball with Derek’s card. Needless to say, Brady was a bit confused by it but very excited to have a signed baseball. We wish Derek’s family and friends the best.

Kelsey’s in Tomah
Bryan Friederick was eating at Kelsey’s in Tomah and while there bought a raffle ticket for a drawing. He won the drawing and instead of keeping the prize, tried giving it to someone else. That person declined so they threw the item up for auction and the proceeds were given back to the Derek Lendosky Memorial Fund. $199. Thank you so much to Kelseys in Tomah, and the wonderful act by Bryan.

Hank The Dog – Brewers Game
My daughter and I attended the Brewers game on Aug. 20th for her 6th birthday. As we were standing around wondering where we wanted to go in the stadium, we were greeted by your people who handed her a Hank dog and explained this organization to me. I want to thank you so much! Not only did you do an act of kindness, you also taught my little girl what it means to do a random act of kindness. She was a little confused as to why someone just handed her a present. We talked about it all the way to our car that day and now she would like to do the same for someone We are very sorry for your loss. Derek seems to have been a very wonderful child. We will definitely spread the word. Thank you again!

More Brewers Acts (Both Sides of the Act!)
From my Grandmother!
Found this sweet boy to give Miller Park FUN money to. His wonderful grandparents brought him and his 2 brothers to the game. Not only is his favorite player Jose Bautista, they ended up sitting in the seats where Steve, Brandee and the kids used to have their season tickets!!
(Second Part) We were at the Brewer game on August 20th which was Derek Day at the ball game. Before the game Derek’s aunt presented our grandson Nicholas with an act of kindness. That was so nice. Derek’s aunt also took a picture of grandpa, our 3 grandsons, great grandma and me. When we came to our seats we were sitting right in front of Derek’s aunt, great grandma, grandpa and other relatives. The boys are very happy with what they purchased from using the act of kindness gift in the Brewer store. That was a nice day. Thank you. Carol Smith |
