I arrived in Fennimore, WI on July 4th….i knew i was in for possibly the experience of a lifetime, right here in this small community of little over 2000 residents located in Southwestern Wisconsin. I had decided to join my friends at Rob Deer Baseball to do our part in “Doin’ it 4 Derek”. The following morning we would welcome over 300 young baseball players to meet and spend the day working with former MLB slugging legend, Rob Deer in a totally free camp Rob had arranged with Steve Lendosky for this camp experience in honor and memory of Derek Lendosky and to add our Random Act of Kindness to the long list worldwide as a result of the tragic loss of Derek almost a year ago. What an amazing and beautiful place to be, this little town filled to the brim with extremely kind and wonderful friends and neighbors. We never met a stranger there, and shoot, no one knew who i was, i don’t look anything like Rob My purpose of being there was to record visually the events of the day and make the photos available for sale so the proceeds could be donated to the memorial scholarship program in Derek’s honor. I am still working on a large number of images which i hope to have finished and posted online tomorrow. Please keep an eye open for them and order a couple for your scrapbook and “Do it 4 Derek” and keep the ball rolling….Thank you Fennimore, Wisconsin, i loved being there, and hopefully i can return sometime….it’s a great place to be!!!
