On July 5, 2014, former Milwaukee Brewers player Rob Deer will be holding a FREE hitting clinic as an Act of Kindness For Derek on the Derek Lendosky Community Field in Derek’s honor. It is FREE and open to all kids age 6-18 who want to meet a former MLB baseball player and learn some pointers on how to become a better baseball / softball player. Derek’s Day at the Ballpark 2014
On August 20th, 2014, Steve will be throwing out the 1st Pitch in Derek’s Honor during the Milwaukee Brewers vs Toronto Blue Jays game. There will be close to 500 people from Fennimore attending this event in support of Derek. There are shirts available to purchase for this event, but the sales of those end on 8/1/14. The cost is $7. 2014 Scholarships
2014 Award Recipients were: Rheann Engelke from Iowa-Grant High School and Mitch Davis from Fennimore High School. Mitch is pictured receiving his check. We were able to give out $1,500 in 2014 to the two wonderful recipients.
Milwaukee Brewers Game 2013
During the game, we were able to work with the Brewers organization to give 20 envelopes (5 of them by Brewers players) to random people at the game with a surprise amount inside. They were gracious beyond that to allow us the opportunity to spread Derek’s message during that game on the live television broadcast. This has led to some friendships within the Brewers’ organization and even some players.
